Sex Offender Harasses 13-Year-Old Girl At East Patchogue Convenience Store, Police Say

A convicted sex offender is accused of harassing an underage girl outside a Long Island convenience store.

The incident happened at the 7-Eleven store at 272 East Main Street in Patchogue.

The incident happened in Patchogue, at the 7-Eleven store located near Montauk Highway and Bay Avenue, at around 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.

Suffolk County Police said 37-year-old Ronald Rios, of East Patchogue, made sexual comments to a 13-year-old girl. When the victim informed Rios of her age, he allegedly continued making sexual comments.

Detectives with the Suffolk County Police Department’s Special Victims Section identified the suspect as Rios. He was arrested on suspicion of endangering the welfare of a child.
